Bowling Night

On Saturday I finally had my work "Christmas" party (I know it's kinda ridiculous, but they have to do it like that because they can't afford to give most of the associates a Saturday off in the middle of December to go to the party, so to make it fair for everybody they do it on a weekend in which they can run the store with few employees). It was at a bowling alley with lots of food, drinks, and awesome co-workers so I went for something very causal.

Top: Kohl's graphic tee; Tilly's Faux leather jacket
Bottom: Sirens jeans
Shoes: Ebay
Accessories: Kohl's ring; gifted ring; Madrag earrings

Sorry about the horrible pictures. But I'm a full time student and can only work part time so I can't afford to buy a nicer camera...yet, I'm saving for one and hopefully soon I'll be able to buy one.
Have a great week!

Spring Trends Part II

A little late but here is part two of what I think will be some seriously awesome spring trends.

The asymmetrical skirt:

I've seen this skirt pop up in other blogs since early fall in neutral colors, mainly black, but I think that as soon as spring weather comes, so will the colorful skirts.

The slouchy peg pant:

I like these pants because they work perfect for both a professional wardrobe or a more casual wardrobe. Wear them with a nice blazer and you're ready for work, wear them with a nice blouse and statement jewelry and you're ready for dinner with the girls.

Patterned pants:

Floral, plaid, polka-dots, it's all game this spring. Pick your favorite patterns and mix and match for a bold statement, or keep it simple on top to make the pants stand out, either way you can't go wrong with these.

I'm working on a third post but not promising anything just yet, have a very busy couple of days ahead. I'm off to get some work done so I can hit the sack early. Goodnight lovelies.

Spring Trends Part I

I don't know about everyone else, but I'm ready for spring to get here! I know I live in Florida and winter here doesn't compare to winter up north, BUT this crazy weather is driving me insane. I don't mind the couple months of somewhat cold temperatures we get each year what I do mind is one day being a nasty 40 degrees and the next it's blazing hot! Or having to leave all bundled up in the mornings and coming home with all the layers in my hands. Ok let me stop my rant, my point is I been dreaming of what I will be rocking once it goes back to being 100 degrees. So far this is what I've come up with.

Peplum Shirt:
I like this style because it's very fun and feminine. It can be worn subtly with strong shoulders to balance it out or with a pencil skirt to make it the focal point of the outfit.

The Oversized Blouse:
Perfect for color blocking or big floral patterns!

Sleeveless Button Up:
Again, perfect for color blocking in very bold colors. Personally, I wouldn't t feel comfortable wearing a cropped one, but I'm sure on someone with enough confidence it would look nice.
Of course we can't just go out only wearing pretty little tops, so tomorrow I'll talk about what will be going on with the legs!

In my makeup bag

So lately I've been reading a few beauty blogs which have been very helpful in regards to tutorials and such. Of course everybody has different skin and so I don't really go to them for product recommendations. I like experimenting and trying things out for myself. And today for some reason I thought doing a "what's in my bag" post instead of an outfit post was a good idea, so here it goes.

This is what I use and carry around on a daily basis..sort of

3.Maybelline Fit Me Pressed Powder  (I use 245 which is a shade darker than the foundation)
4. Flirt! brushes from Kohl's (no longer available online)
5. Maybelline Fit Me Blush (308 deep nude)
6. Maybelline Fit Me Foundation (235; Fit Me collection available at any drugstore)
7. This is a Maybelline mascara but I can't seem to find it only and as you can see the name has worn off. All I know is that the shade is Very Black.
8. Rimmel London Lycra Lash Extender Mascara (I have two mascaras because I just bought this one after hearing some good things about it..let's see how it works out)
9. Eyeliner pencil sharpener
11. Maybelline Baby Lips (Cherry Me)
12. NYC Eyeliner (Jet Black; I use this in combination with a Stila black eyeshadow to make it last longer)
13. Sephora Compact Mirror

Man that's quite a bit of things to be carrying around, but then again I need an excuse to keep buying bigger purses!

As natural as it gets

Yesterday I woke up a little on the lazy side and decided makeup and decent looking hair were not necessary.

Top: JcPenney
Bottom: Forever 21 skirt; Kohl's tights
Accessories: Beya bangles; Kohl's watch

Face free of makeup and no contact lenses

Air dried hair

Shoes: Gifted

So there it is. A simple outfit inspired by laziness, and I couldn't have loved it more. I was comfortable all day long!

Why I love Target!

Sooo who else is excited for the launch of Jason Wu's collection at Target?! Ever since I heard about it I been dreaming of the day it will finally be in my closet, and now that its only a month away I have pretty little patterns and gorgeous stripes dancing in my head.

Perfect for any season. With tights, booties, and a nice leather jacket for winter or all on its own for a hot summer day.

Again, can be worn during any season. Best part? In just two minutes I came up with ten different outfits using just the pieces above, don't you just love versatile pieces!

And of course the bags, the beautiful, beautiful bags. I am speechless.

Oh February 5th, can you just get here already??

12 goals for 2012

As I been browsing through my favorite blogs I been noticing everybody is all excited for this new year and creating list after list. I'm not a big fan of lists, not sure whether it's because they remind me I'm a procrastinator or because 90% of the time I don't get all of it done. But today I got inspired and created a list of my own...maybe posting it here will help me keep my word...maybe.
So here it is, my 12 for 2012:

1. Read more often.

2. Blog more. This is the third blog I start, the other two didn't work out too well because I didn't make time for them, but third time's the charm..right?

3. Lead a healthier lifestyle. I eat too much fast food and don't exercise enough, it has to change.

4. Work more on school work. I have good grades and always get all my work done, but I think I can do so much better if I just spend more time on it.

5. Cook more. I love food and would love to learn some new recipes.

6. Learn more about my passion. I'm a lover of all things fashion, but I have to admit I don't know as much about the industry as a fashion student should.

7. Get back to work. I took a little break from work, but it's time to go back.

8. Start thrifting. I've made a couple half-hearted attempts but haven't been patient enough to find anything. That has to change!

9. Create a budget. I spend too much on things I don't need when I should be saving that money.

10. DIY blogs! I already read too many blogs, but that never hurt anybody, right?

11. Finish a 30x30.

12. Take more risks with my wardrobe.

Many things I want to change this year. Let's see what the next 360 days will bring.

Happy New Year!

I hope all of you had a wonderful New Years and whichever holiday it is you celebrate! I know I enjoyed every single day of my winter break. The only part I didn't enjoy of my break was traveling on Christmas Eve, talk about madness. It wasn't fun but it certainly was funny.
Simple Travels

Every time I travel I try to keep it as simple and comfortable as possible, but of course not everyone is like me. While I sat in the gate, waiting to board the plane, I see a very interesting group of people walking by. This group consisted of: a lady in a very tight and sparkly dress, two little girls in princess costumes, three grown men in their pajamas, and a handful of girls in 5 inch heels. Now I understand wanting to be comfortable and that some people want to be dressed up for the holidays, but all that in an airport is not necessary. People, for the sake of my eyeballs, please tone it down a little!
